Part 4 of a Four-Part Series: September 27 - 30, 2007

This two-year series, being held over several weekends, will take place at the Blue Water Farm in Andover, NH and will offer participants an introduction to traditional indigenous Peruvian practices and philosophy of making living an art. Mountain Spirit Institute, a 501(c) 3 non-profit educational organization. A hallmark of its mission is to facilitate one’s connection to self, each other and the natural world, also a touchstone of the Paredes teachings.

Theo Paredes, Ph.D., is the founding Director of Poqen Kanchay Foundation in Cusco, Peru. He combines his knowledge of the myths and the life view of the societies, which culminated with the Incas, together with Andean energy concepts, to form the perspective of a different kind of society.

Richards, Founder and Director of Mountain Spirit Institute first encountered Paredes when attending a conference in Peru, and later visited Paredes’ Poqen Kanchay Foundation south of Cusco, Peru to learn more about the man and his passion to create a program to share his knowledge.

Four years later, Becky Bowles, board member of MSI has been studying under Paredes at an apprenticeship program in Michigan. When she serendipitously mentioned the Paredes’ program to Richards, it didn’t take long for the two to decide to ask their mutual acquaintance to come to New Hampshire. Bowles, program coordinator for the series, says of her experience with the workshop, "It changes your whole life, it alters your decision making process".
