EQUIPMENT LISTS

For all sections:

  • Wool and/or Synthetic Socks
  • Base Layer Top - Synthetic, wool or silk
  • Base Layer Bottoms - Synthetic, wool or silk - optional for cool or winter days
  • Mid-Insulation Layer Top - Pile (fleece), light synthetic fill or wool sweater/jacket
  • Hiking Pants- Synthetic multipurpose pants
  • Weather Layer Top - Gore-Tex or other waterproof (can serve as wind gear)
  • Weather Layer Pants - Gore-Tex or other waterproof (can serve as wind gear)
  • Mittens/Gloves: layered system if possible ie..insuluating layer of wool or polypro and a shell layer of Goretex-type material.
  • Back-up set of base and mid-insulation layer if availble
  • Handkerchief
  • Suncreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun Hat
  • Winter Hat, wool or polypro
  • (2) Water bottles
  • Day pack
  • Camera (optional)
  • Binoculars - Optional
  • Journal

Hiking

  • Light hiking boots or sneakers
  • Compass (optional, for opt compass lesson)

Rock Climbing

  • close-toed shoes of any type, sneakers, hikers etc.
  • Umbrella
  • Insulated or fleece vest (optional)

Pond Excursion by Kayak/Canoe

  • Dry Bag, (extra large Zip-Loc storage bags, doubled up work well).
  • Small Towel
  • No cotton clothes
  • Old sneakers (you don't mind getting wet), or.."watershoes"
  • Extra set of socks and pants
  • Sneakers or light hiking boots for walking
  • Waterproof pants or (poncho/piece of plastic to lay on your thighs while in the boat so water doesn't drip from paddle)
  • Compass (optional, for optional compass lesson)
  • A few zip lock bags for camera etc.
  • PFD's are supplied by the boat supplier, but feel free to bring your own, and/or your favorite paddle if you have one.
