Two Programs for Peru 2011
May'11: Trekking in Cordillera Blanca, then Machu Picchu and Cusco (14 Days)
July'11: Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, with Day Hikes
(14 Days)

Peru is incredibly beautiful, diverse and historically rich country. The Peruvian people are an upbeat, warm and friendly culture, with a sense of optimism. The country is a magical place, considered the spiritual center of the Americas. Cusco, the outlying Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu all have a special feeling to which no picture can do justice, not to mention the physical beauty of the land and the warmth of its people. On this program you will experience the heart and capital of the Inca Culture, Cusco, the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, and Machu Pichu, discovered by amateur archeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911. The reason Mountain Spirit Institute brings students to Peru is because of the rich opportunities that exist to experience a healthy culture and strong sense of community.

I just wanted to thank you again for everything--it was the trip of a life time and so rich and there are just so many things to think about. I honestly it will change a lot of things for us--how we think about food and water and a lot of things. Anyhow, it was fun, too, with lots of good memories of laughing.

All the arrangements MSI made behind the scenes worked well. Having Guillermo with us was priceless. The whole experience in Peru was worth the trip. I liked the ceremony performed by Sr. Segundino and liked seeing the Milky Way on Amantani Island on Lake Titicaca!

Well planned: the lodging, food, choices of experiences such as the Inca ruins, staying with families such as Anna and Richard Cari, Visiting Willoc, making and playing zampona instruments, and getting to know Guillermo's band. **** Guillermo!**

I liked meeting the real people of Peru. Randy's example of energetic interaction with the people worked well and set a good tone for the program.
